Must Try is a community food-discovery app, from the made. studio, that rates dishes rather than restaurants. This page explains, in plain words, what musttry.made-by-ac.com collects and what we do with it. There is no sign-up, so we collect little, but votes are public by design.
What we collect
We collect what you do in the app, plus anything you choose to send us.
- Your votes: when you vote on a dish (must try, good or overrated), we record the vote, the dish, the time, a silent anonymous account ID and a random device ID. You do not sign up or log in. Votes are public: anyone using the app's public data can see that an anonymous account voted a certain way on a dish. They carry the random IDs, not your name.
- Your profile: your votes build a taste profile that anyone with its link can see. It is anonymous unless you add a display name, and then the name is shown with it.
- Your passport: the dishes you mark as tried are private to you.
- Dishes you add: the restaurant, dish name, category, a short note and a price, if you give one. These are public so others can find and vote on the dish.
- Restaurant claims: if you claim a restaurant, your name, role, phone number, email address (optional), your message and whether you want the dining stack. Only we can read these. We use them to verify and contact you.
- Email, WhatsApp or phone: if you message or call us, we receive whatever you send and your address or number. Those services have their own privacy terms.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run analytics on this site, we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell or rent your details. We do not ask for your location.
What the site stores in your browser
The app keeps a random device ID and a copy of your votes in your browser's local storage so it remembers what you voted for, and the silent anonymous account keeps a small session cookie from our database provider so your history carries over. There are no advertising cookies. You can clear all of it in your browser's site settings, and doing so detaches this device from your votes.
Who handles it for us
A few providers process data so the site works. They act on our instructions:
- Vercel hosts the website. Like any host it processes standard request data (IP address, browser, pages requested) in server logs. Its servers can be outside India.
- Supabase provides our database and the silent anonymous accounts. It stores your votes, profile, passport, the dishes people add and restaurant claims.
- The typefaces are served from our own address, so no font provider sees your visit.
How long we keep it
Votes, profiles and added dishes are kept for as long as the app runs, because the rankings depend on them. Restaurant claims are kept until we have dealt with them. If you want your votes, profile or a claim deleted, write to us with your profile link or the phone number you used and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it, by writing to thebrain@made-by-ac.com. We reply ourselves. If you are in a country with data protection rights of its own, those apply too and we will honour them.
Changes and contact
If what this site does with data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions, requests and complaints go to thebrain@made-by-ac.com.
